IPTV Subscriptions — Internet TV Service Credits

3 min read

What are IPTV Subscriptions?

IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) delivers television content over IP networks instead of traditional terrestrial, satellite, or cable television formats. IPTV subscriptions give users access to live TV channels, video-on-demand (VOD), catch-up TV, and time-shifted programming through an internet connection.

How IPTV Works

  1. Content Source: Live channels and VOD content are encoded into digital streams on the provider's servers
  2. Delivery: Streams are delivered via internet (HTTP, RTSP, or HLS protocol) to the user's device
  3. Playback: Content plays on a compatible device — Smart TV, Android TV box, smartphone, tablet, PC, or dedicated IPTV set-top box
  4. Authentication: User authenticates with a subscription code, M3U playlist URL, or Xtream Codes API credentials

IPTV Formats & Protocols

FormatDescription
M3U / M3U8Playlist file containing channel URLs. Most universal format — works with VLC, Perfect Player, TiviMate, and most IPTV apps
Xtream Codes APIServer URL + username + password. Modern IPTV apps use this for EPG (Electronic Program Guide) integration, categories, catch-up
MAC AddressUsed with STB Emulator and MAG box-style apps. Device MAC tied to subscription on provider's server
Enigma2 / E2For Linux-based satellite receivers (Dreambox, VU+, etc.) that also support IPTV bouquets

Compatible Devices

  • Android TV Boxes: Nvidia Shield, Xiaomi Mi Box, Amazon Fire TV Stick, generic Android boxes
  • Smart TVs: Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Android TV (Sony, TCL, Hisense)
  • Smartphones/Tablets: Android (TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, GSE), iOS (GSE, IPTV Smarters)
  • PC/Mac: VLC, Perfect Player, MyIPTV Player
  • MAG Boxes: Dedicated IPTV set-top boxes (MAG 254/256/322/424)

Content Types

  • Live TV: Arabic, French, English, Turkish, Spanish channels — sports, news, entertainment, cinema
  • VOD (Video on Demand): Movies and TV series library
  • Catch-Up: Replay previously aired programs (typically 3-7 day window)
  • PPV Events: Pay-per-view sporting events, concerts

How to Set Up IPTV: Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Purchase an IPTV subscription from Code-GSM — choose duration (1, 3, 6, or 12 months)
  2. Receive your credentials: You will get an M3U URL or Xtream Codes login (Server URL, Username, Password)
  3. Choose your IPTV player app:
    • Android/Fire Stick: TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro, or OTT Navigator
    • iOS/Apple TV: GSE Smart IPTV or IPTV Smarters
    • Smart TV (Samsung/LG): Smart IPTV (SIPTV), SS IPTV, or Duplex IPTV
    • MAG Box: Enter portal URL in settings
    • Enigma2/Linux: Use XtreamTV plugin or M3U playlist
  4. Enter credentials in the app:
    • Xtream Codes method: Go to "Add Playlist" → select Xtream Codes API → enter Server URL, Username, Password, Port
    • M3U method: Go to "Add Playlist" → paste the M3U URL → the channel list loads automatically
  5. Wait for channels to load (may take 30 seconds to 2 minutes for large lists)
  6. Browse and watch: Channels are organized by country and category (Sports, Movies, News, Kids, etc.)

Tutorial: Setting Up TiviMate on Amazon Fire Stick

  1. On Fire Stick, go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Install Unknown Apps → ON
  2. Install Downloader app from Amazon App Store
  3. In Downloader, enter the TiviMate APK download URL
  4. Install TiviMate and open it
  5. Select "Add Playlist" → choose Xtream Codes
  6. Enter your Server URL, Username, Password from Code-GSM
  7. Done — channels appear in an organized EPG (Electronic Program Guide) layout

Troubleshooting

  • Buffering/freezing: Use a wired ethernet connection or 5GHz WiFi. Minimum 15 Mbps for HD, 25 Mbps for 4K
  • Channels not loading: Check if your subscription is active and credentials are entered correctly (no extra spaces)
  • EPG (TV guide) missing: In app settings, add the EPG URL provided with your subscription and refresh
  • VPN recommended: Some ISPs throttle IPTV traffic — a VPN can help bypass throttling
