Samsung Account lock (also called Samsung Reactivation Lock or Find My Mobile lock) is Samsung's equivalent of Apple's iCloud Activation Lock. When a Samsung device with a Samsung account is factory reset, it demands the original Samsung account credentials before the device can be used.

Samsung devices can have two separate cloud-based locks after factory reset:

How to Order Samsung Account Removal: Step-by-Step

  1. Identify the lock type:
    • Samsung Reactivation Lock: After reset, device asks "This device was reset. Sign in with Samsung account that was previously synced"
    • Samsung FRP: Google account verification after factory reset (separate from Samsung account)

  • Google FRP: Google's Factory Reset Protection. Asks for the Google account previously synced. Independent of Samsung account

  • You may have multiple locks: A device can have Samsung Account + Google FRP + Knox Guard simultaneously — each requires separate removal

Tips

  • Check IMEI accuracy — Samsung server-side services are processed by IMEI. Wrong IMEI = wrong device or failed service
  • Connect to WiFi after service completion — Samsung devices need to contact Samsung servers to apply the removal
