Method A — #pw+CODE+1# (Classic Keypad Models)

Steps:

  1. Power ON without any SIM card
  2. Type: #pw+CODE+1# using the numeric keypad
  3. P = press * three times | W = press * four times | + = press * twice
  4. Replace CODE with your unlock code number
  5. Phone displays "SIM Restriction Off"

Rogers/Fido Canada: Use #pw+CODE+7#

Method B — QWERTY / S60 Symbian Models

Steps:

  1. Insert a foreign SIM card (different carrier) and power on
  2. Press OK when "SIM Restricted" appears
  3. Type on the QWERTY keyboard: #pw+CODE+1#
  4. Press OK/Enter
  5. "SIM Restriction Off" confirms the unlock

Method C — Nokia Lumia (Windows Phone)

Steps:

  1. Insert a SIM card from a different carrier
  2. Enter the unlock code when "SIM Network Unlock PIN" prompt appears
  3. Tap OK — phone is now unlocked

Method D — Nokia Android (HMD Global, 2017+)

Steps:

  1. Insert a SIM card from a carrier other than the locked carrier
  2. Power on the device
  3. "SIM Network Unlock PIN" dialog appears
  4. Enter the unlock code and tap Unlock / OK

If no dialog appears: go to Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile Network → check for unlock prompt, or restart with the foreign SIM inside.
